ISSUE OF ELECTRICAL FITNESS CERTIFICATES FOR EXHIBITION OF FILMS ON TELEVISION SCREEN THROUGH VIDEO CASSETTE RECORDER OR LASER DISC

The Exhibition of films on Television screen through Video cassette Recorder or Laser Disc in the entire state of Karnataka is governed by:

     (a). The Karnataka Cinema (Regulation) Act, 1964.
     (b). The Karnataka Exhibition of films on Television screen through Video cassette Recorder or Laser Disc (Regulation) Rules, 1984

The applicant who desires to install a Video center for public exhibition of films on TV shall make an application to the Licensing authority. The District Magistrate is the Licening Authority.

The following documents along with the application to the concerned area/District Deputy Electrical Inspector

  1. Copy of No Objection Certificate
  2. Electrical Wiring diagram with details of equipments installed.
  3. The completion report through his Licensed Electrical contractor who has carried out the work
  4. Copy of Licence and supervisor permits of the Licensed Electrical contractor
  5. Megger test results of the electrical installation
  6. Details of Earthing arrangement and Earth test results of all the electrodes
  7. Name plate details of VCR equipment & others with Sl. No., make, capacity etc.
  8. Enclose original receipt for Rs. 500/- towards fee for inspection and issue of Electrical fitness certificate. Fee shall be paid under the Department Head of Account “Non plan 0043 Taxes and other duties on Electricity- Fee for Inspection of Cinemas.”

The Deputy Electrical Inspector will inspect the installation and after satisfying himself regarding the fitness of the installation, apparatus and plant along with fire fighting equipments for safe exhibition of films through VCR or Laser Disc, shall issue electrical certificate under intimation to the Licencing Authority.

The Electrical certificate is valid for maximum of one year.
