Presently the department of Electrical Inspectorate is issuing authorisation for testing of meters, PTs CTs, relays, transformer oil filteration etc to private agencies holding valid electrical contractor.

In the 2013-14 Budget speech presented by Honb’le Chief Minister, one of the new intiative proposed is Establishment of centralised research lab for adoption of new technology and testing of energy meters.
